Welcome to our second ukulele course for children, new players and adults/parents/teachers. This course carries on from where our first Ukulele Club left off - but you can start here if you are already a bit of a player! This is perfect for young players - 5-10yrs/primary school age - and their family. If you want to learn a collection of great, relatively easy-to-play songs that are all family/child-friendly - you're in the right place too!
In this course, Al will take you through strumming patterns and rhythms, show you some picking, and introduce lots more chords as you progress. The videos are short and easy to follow with chord shape diagrams and song lyrics as subtitles. You can watch on any device at any time and learn at your own pace. Every lesson comes with downloadable song-sheets with chords so you can take them away to practice and build your collection.
By the end of this course you'll know an even bigger collection of great songs that you can play and sing along to and be the life-and-soul of the party! If you are a teacher who wants to start a ukulele club at school, this collection is ideal for your primary age-group, and put you ahead of the game!
Here's a list of the songs included:
- If You're Happy & You Know It
- Old Macdonald had a Farm
- Do-Re-Mi (from the Sound of Music)
- Stand By Me (Ben E King)
- My Dragon (Al Start)
- Shotgun (George Ezra)
- September 1666 (Al Start)
- The Cups Song + the cool rhythm (Anna Kendrick - from Pitch Perfect)

I've been teaching ukulele to children and adults for over 10 years - in schools, community groups, at events and festivals. I train teachers who want to play ukulele at school and run workshops for music services, local authorities and businesses. I have now taken my lessons and filmed them so you can learn at your own pace, when and wherever you want to!
Come on - get your uke on!
