Change the World a Little Every Day Teaching Pack (KS1/KS2) Topic: Harvest Festival, Rainforest, Poverty, Wider World, Sharing [CCLI Song ID: 7181750]
This gentle song is about caring for each other and our planet, perfect for harvest festival and eco themed topics. KS1 and KS2
This is a really popular song in primary schools up and down the country. It is melodic and moving and is about caring for our planet and each other, and sharing. The lyrics touch on people not having enough to eat all over the world, animals not having a home if the rainforest is chopped down.
The anthemic refrain is the title, and there is a section at the end with optional two parts (which Al comfortably sings with year 1 & 2 upwards) that builds to a lovely emotional end!
This is a great song to use at Harvest Festival as an alternative to “Let’s Harvest” if you want to look at a more global theme about sharing.
This song celebrates every individual child’s contribution to the world making a little change to the entire world. A great concept!
Al has performed this versatile song with a school choir with three part harmonies as well as two different vocal parts. It can be arranged with solos, small group parts and more.
The makaton signs make it a great visual performance piece as well as making it suitable for children who use Makaton and BSL.

“Hello, I'm Al. I started Go Kid Music in 2015 because I believe we need more great age-appropriate songs for children and their families. I used to be a Play Coordinator for the local authority, lecture at Brighton University and have trained in play, creative learning and child development. I studied music at Brighton Institute of Modern Music in 2003 and gained a distinction in Songwriting & Modern Composition. I have toured extensively and produce music and events for families. I teach singing and ukulele in schools where I try out all the songs in the club so you know they will go down a storm with your kids!"
